The sweetheart dance was great. Dilliard was great. I was great. Everything was great.
Dilliard picked me up. He had flowers, candy, and a stuffed dolphin. I love dolphins. I was grinning from ear to ear when he gave me my stuff.
When we got to the dance, Keren met me outside. I could tell that she was heated. Smoke was coming out of her ears and nose. She grunted and told me that EBB (her boyfriend) hadn't gotten her a gift. (I told EBB earlier that week that I could get my mother to make something so that he could give it to Keren, but he said no. He is on a money saving kick these days.) I told Keren she could go home, but she didn't want to leave me. That's my girl. She always has my back like that.
I danced every dance with Dilliard. It was so cool. He danced so cute. I wanted to laugh, but I didn't. EBB tried to cut in on one song, but Dilliard told him no. EBB probably wanted me to talk to Keren for him. I wasn't going to do it anyway.
Dilliard didn't even try to grab my behind on the slow dances. I wouldn't have minded if he had. (Ok, I know, I'm fast.) He spent me around on one slow dance. It was so corny, but I liked it.
We went and got something to eat. Keren and EBB went with us. Keren ate, but EBB didn't because he didn't have any money. I looked at Keren, thinking that she wasn't going to leave her boy hanging like that, but she did. She didn't even flinch. EBB actually looked hurt. Dilliard asked me if he should get EBB something to eat. I told him naw. Keren would have cut Dilliard.
Dilliard took me home after a dismal dining experience because Keren was oozing venom and EBB looked like a wounded bird.
I was hoping that Dilliard would kiss me. I was tempted to lean in and kiss him, but Keren had told me not to earlier. "He will think you are desperate. Just chill." She thought she was my mother.
Dilliard kissed me on the cheek after we got to my porch. I guess that will have to do.
